After a grueling showdown of Aurora Gaming (RORA) against Team Liquid PH (TLPH) and Onic PH versus TNC Pro Team, overpowered teams had different points of view toward the games held yesterday, regarding how the evolving meta brings challenge to these teams.
RORA and TNC handed over TLPH and ONIC’s setbacks in their respective series in games 5 and 6, as the sonics locked in fourth place overall, and Team Liquid in its lower bracket placement for match 7.
With Mobile Legends: Bang Bang’s update under Project NEXT 2025, it introduced four new versions of the battlefield, and each of which has a different terrain. These system upgrades reshaped ML’s competitive landscape – redefining how fast the players think and adapt.
The tactical shake-up occurs randomly to each match, as it selects one of the four maps mentioned. Teams will have to regroup and strategize their momentum all throughout their quest, if not, they will be outpaced.
“Naputol yung momentum namin nung game 1, tapos as a coach, parang sobrang bagal kong um-adapt do’n sa ginagawa ng Aurora,” said Team Liquid Coach Arsy.
M-series World Championships
With hindsight, ONIC was hailed M6 title holder from outlasting Team Liquid Indonesia in a suspense best-of-seven grand finals, with a game standing of 4-3. Their title extended the Philippines’ consecutive title to its fifth, which asserted the country’s growing dominance in the MLBB tournament.
Meanwhile, TLPH, the defending champions of the MPL-PH S15 who is also a title holder of the fourth edition of M-series cleared a 4-0 run, upsetting Blacklist International in the finals in 2022.
MSC 2025
Team Liquid maintained their international presence, which expanded their legacy, representing the country in MSC 2025, where after the game 1 misstep, they reversedly swept the Selangor Red Giants OG.
Tested, not torn
All teams shared the same pursuit, same hunger, and same dream, but were divided by execution.
ONIC Philippines coach humbly expressed his despair after their final appearance in this season’s MPL. “Last year, we were very unstoppable; this year, pa-shaky nang pa-shaky,” ONIC Coach Ynot told the media.
“I think most people would agree [na] medyo na-late kami doon sa update ng meta. [Kaya] it’s very humbling, to be honest.”
For teams like ONIC and TLPH, their loss was not just in the stats on screens, whilst it echoed in the silence, hiding the heartbreak in plain sight. Each squad poured in months, even years in practice to represent their communities, yet they were challenged.
